WHAT WE TREAT
Strains and Sprains
Strains and sprains are among the most common injuries we see, whether from sport, exercise, sudden movements, or daily activities. These injuries can range from mild to severe, and while often painful, they usually respond well to appropriate rehabilitation.
Common Causes of Strains & Sprains
Muscle Strains
A strain occurs when a muscle or tendon is overstretched or overloaded, causing small tears. This can happen during sport, lifting, or even sudden, unexpected movements.
Common examples include hamstring, calf, and groin strains.
Our treatment focuses on progressive strengthening, restoring mobility, and guiding you safely back to full function.
Ligament Sprains
Sprains happen when a ligament is stretched or torn—often due to a twist, fall, or awkward movement.
Ankle sprains and knee sprains are among the most frequent injuries in sports and daily life.
Rehabilitation includes restoring stability, balance, and strength to prevent ongoing instability or repeated sprains.
Severe Strains or Sprains
In more significant injuries, swelling, bruising, or difficulty putting weight on the area may occur.
We assess the severity, provide a clear diagnosis, and guide you through an evidence-based recovery plan. If imaging or referral is needed, we will discuss this with you.
Return to Sport or Training
A key part of our approach is ensuring you are not only pain-free but also strong, stable, and confident when you return to your chosen activity.
We use progressive loading, functional strength work, and sport-specific rehabilitation to help you return safely and perform better than before.
