WHAT WE TREAT
Hip Pain
Hip pain can substantially affect daily life, including walking, sitting, training, and sleeping. Hip issues may occur at any age, from younger individuals with sport-related problems to older adults experiencing age-related changes.
At our clinic, we assess hip pain comprehensively, identify the root cause, and guide you through a structured, personalised rehabilitation plan.
Common Causes of Hip Pain
Labral Tears
The labrum is a ring of cartilage that surrounds and stabilises the hip joint. Twisting movements, repetitive strain, or trauma may irritate or tear the labrum, leading to pain, clicking, or instability.
Many labral issues can be treated successfully without surgery through strength-based rehabilitation and movement optimisation.
Hip Impingement (FAI – Femoroacetabular Impingement)
Occurs when structural differences in the ball-and-socket hip joint create compression during movements such as squatting, sitting, or running.
Osteoarthritis
With age, the cartilage in the hip can gradually wear down, leading to pain, stiffness, and reduced mobility.
Exercise therapy is an effective method for managing hip osteoarthritis. We support you in maintaining strength, mobility, and activity through an evidence-based, individualised program.
Bursitis and Tendonopathy
Bursitis occurs when the bursae—small fluid-filled sacs that help reduce friction in the hip—become inflamed, leading to pain and discomfort along the outer hip. Similar pain can also arise from gluteus medius tendinopathy. This can make lying on your side, climbing stairs, or walking long distances uncomfortable.
Rehabilitation focuses on load management, targeted strengthening, and correcting movement patterns to restore comfortable function.
