Lauren qualified as a physiotherapist (BSc Hons) from Coventry University in 2004. She is a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy and is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council.
She has worked within the NHS at renowned institutions in Oxford and Glasgow and more recently at the Royal Hospital for Sick Children in Edinburgh, where she has gained extensive experience and specialist clinical knowledge in orthopaedics, trauma, sporting injuries and musculoskeletal physiotherapy in patients of all ages. For many years she worked within adult services but more recently her NHS work specialises in treating children from babies to teenagers with a variety of musculoskeletal and congenital conditions. She was keen to continue working with adults and her private work at Active Health, Edinburgh offers the perfect opportunity to do both. She has completed post graduate training in acupuncture, Pilates and Kinesio taping. Utilising these skills alongside advanced clinical reasoning and excellent manual therapy skills and knowledge of exercise, she endeavours to maximise her clients’ well-being and potential.
Lauren discovered a love of running later in life and in recent years has completed a number of marathons. She also enjoys cycling and skiing. Spending time with friends and family is extremely important to her, and if she drags them out on a run or a cycle ride, then it’s the perfect combination!
