Lauren Fraser
Physiotherapist

Lauren qualified as a physiotherapist (BSc Hons) from Coventry University in 2004 and she is a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy and is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council.

She has worked within the NHS at renowned institutions in Oxford and Glasgow and more recently at the Royal Hospital for Sick Children in Edinburgh. With this varied work experience she has gained specialist clinical knowledge and experience in orthopaedics, trauma, sporting injuries and musculoskeletal physiotherapy in patients of all ages. For many years she worked within adult services but more recently her NHS work specialises in treating children from babies to teenagers with a variety of musculoskeletal and congenital conditions. We are very lucky to have a paediatric physiotherapist at Active Health Edinburgh with the skills and knowledge to assess and treat babies, children and young adults who have specific physical, developmental and emotional needs that are very different to those of adults.

Lauren was keen to continue working with adults too and her private work at Active Health offers her the perfect opportunity to do both. She has completed post graduate training in acupuncture, Pilates and Kinesio taping. Utilising these skills alongside advanced clinical reasoning and excellent manual therapy skills and knowledge of exercise, she endeavours to maximise her clients’ well-being and potential.

Lauren discovered a love of running later in life and in recent years has completed several marathons. She also enjoys cycling and skiing. Spending time with friends and family is extremely important to her, and if she drags them out on a run or a cycle ride, then it’s the perfect combination!
