Paula first became interested in therapies after receiving an aromatherapy kit for Christmas as a teenager. This sparked an interest in a holistic approach to health and wellbeing. She is passionate about natural health and how individuals can be empowered to take responsibility for their own wellbeing.
She has diplomas in Swedish massage, On-site massage, Remedial & Sports massage, Sports Event massage and Advanced Remedial massage. She has also trained in hot stone massage, kinesio taping, Chinese cupping, lymphatic drainage massage and orthopaedic massage for the upper body.
Paula has worked as a massage therapist since 2008. She spent two seasons working with Heart of Midlothian football club’s first team, providing game day and recovery massage. She has also volunteered with Edinburgh Rugby’s Elite Development Players. She also regularly works at companies doing on-site massage.
At Active Health, Paula’s treatment focuses on areas of pain or restriction. She blends techniques from all her qualifications to provide a treatment tailored to the individual, often combining remedial techniques with structural corrections as required and finishing most treatments with relaxation techniques. Her treatments combine the relaxation and remedial effects of massage wonderfully.
In her spare time Paula is passionate about her family and raising her 2 teenagers. She enjoys walking and furthering her knowledge in health and wellbeing.
