Remedial Massage Therapist
Paula first became interested in therapies after receiving an aromatherapy kit for Christmas as a teenager. This sparked an interest in a holistic approach to health and wellbeing. She is passionate about natural health and how individuals can be empowered to take responsibility for their own wellbeing.
She has diplomas in Swedish massage, On-site massage, Remedial & Sports massage, Sports Event massage and Advanced Remedial massage. She also holds certificates in hot stone massage, kinesio taping, Chinese cupping, lymphatic drainage massage and orthopedic massage for the upper body.
Paula has worked as a massage therapist since 2008. She has the ability to create an individualised approach to massage treatment for all members of the public. She spent two seasons working with Heart of Midlothian football club’s first team, providing game day and recovery massage. She has also volunteered with Edinburgh Rugby’s Elite Development Players. On-site massage treatments are also regularly performed.
At Active Health, Paula’s treatment focus is on areas of pain or restriction. She blends techniques from all of her qualifications to provide a treatment tailored to the individual, often combining remedial techniques with structural corrections as required and finishing most treatments with hot stones for added relaxation. Her treatments combine the relaxation and remedial effects wonderfully.
In her spare time Paula is passionate about her family and raising her 2 teenagers. She enjoys walking and furthering her knowledge health and wellbeing.
