In her treatments she combines mostly “hands on” treatments including manual therapy, myofascial release, acupuncture, dry needling, therapeutic taping, Pilates, Hypopressive therapy, neurodynamics and an individualised exercise program to continue the treatment actively at home.
She blends techniques from all her qualifications to provide a treatment tailored to the individual, often combining remedial techniques with structural corrections as required and finishing most treatments with relaxation techniques. Her treatments combine the relaxation and remedial effects of massage wonderfully.
She has also completed various Craniosacral Postgraduate courses including working with babies and children. She is also part of an Edinburgh Peer Group for Craniosacral Therapists to develop their practice. Nicky is interested in working with people of all ages and exploring the benefits of Craniosacral Therapy for physical, emotional, psychological and mental difficulties and for personal growth.
In 2013, due to the need for bigger premises and the growing demands of business and family life, she teamed up with her friend and colleague, Briana Eades, to form Active Health Edinburgh Ltd with the vision of having physiotherapy, remedial massage therapy and podiatry, amongst other therapies offered under one roof.
Lauren qualified as a physiotherapist (BSc Hons) from Coventry University in 2004 and she is a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy and is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council.
She combines manual therapy, dry needling, therapeutic taping, biomechanics retraining, and an individualised exercise program to target patient specific needs to ensure their goals are met.
Dougie uses numerous massage therapy and manipulation techniques to offer the best treatment possible. Myofascial (MFR) release, neuro- muscular techniques, trigger point therapy, muscle energy techniques (MET) and Manipulations may be used as part of Douglas’s treatments.
As well as Sports massage, Catriona is also qualified in pregnancy massage, hot stones fusion therapy, Swedish Massage, aromatherapy facials, deep tissue massage, on-site corporate chair massage and carpal tunnel wrist and arm pain massage.
