Katie graduated in 2011 with a Bachelor of Science with Honours in Podiatry from Glasgow Caledonian University. Prior to training in Podiatry, she obtained a Bachelor of Science with Merit in Sports Science from the University of Glasgow. Since qualifying as a Podiatrist Katie has worked in both the NHS and in private clinics, working within several specialist areas in this time including; Biomechanics, Diabetes, Rheumatoid arthritis and wound care.
Katie has a special interest in injuries of the foot and ankle. She has also completed Master’s level modules with a Musculoskeletal focus at the University of Dundee. She has a keen interest in sport, primarily football, and has previously captained Scottish Women’s Premier League side Spartans FC which are based in Edinburgh. She has represented Scotland at under 17 and under 19 levels and has played in the SWPL for Spartans. She understands the demands placed on the feet when playing all levels of sport. Her experience as a sportswoman drives her passion for her podiatric care and she incorporates this into her assessments and treatments.
Katie specialises in sports injuries, musculoskeletal issues (MSK) and biomechanics as well as offering general footcare services. She can perform Biomechanical assessments with assistance from the TOG GaitScan™ and can prescribe custom and over the counter orthotics to support your foot. The TOG GaitScan™ is an innovative diagnostic tool and digital casting equipment that allows therapists to analyse patient biomechanics and order custom orthotic products.
Katie is registered as a Podiatrist with the Health & Care Professions Council, a government led organisation which regulates the Allied Health Professions. She is also a member of The College of Podiatry.
